Did you know that it is customary to read from the Torah on Saturday afternoon?! Even better, the service is much shorter than in the morning. This service will be particularly special because we will have the first baby naming in our Karov community.
After the Torah reading, Rabbi Amanda will facilitate an interactive Torah project for the kids, while the adults have their own conversation inspired by the Torah portion. We will then have a vegetarian potluck dinner and time to socialize. The venue has a lovely playground, where the kids can play, if the weather is nice. Finally, we will sing out Shabbat and begin the week anew with the beautiful ritual of havdallah.
Timing
4:00PM Brief service including Torah reading, BABY NAMING, and discussion about the week’s parsha (options for kids and adults)
5:15PM Potluck Dinner followed by shmoozing and kids can play on playground (if it's nice out)
6:15PM Havdallah (end of Shabbat ritual)
Please bring a vegetarian dish to share at our potluck- it doesn’t have to be fancy. What matters is sharing and being together.
$5/child, $10/adult or $30/family
